dreamy Engagement Photos at Black Butte Ranch



An engagement session captures more than just a couple-it captures their connection and chemistry, while creating memories that will last a lifetime. My session with Kaitlyn and Drew, in Bend, Oregon, was exactly that: a morning full of intimacy, joy, and a touch of adventure in one of Oregon’s most stunning mountain-range locations.

my First Destination Shoot

This was my first photoshoot outside of Texas, and there is something so unique about capturing couples at a destination like Bend, Oregon. The natural beauty of the meadows, tall grass, horses, and spring-fed waterways provided the perfect backdrop for Kaitlyn and Drew’s engagement session, elevating every frame.

Meeting The Couple



I first met this stunning couple over the summer at Black Butte Ranch, where they had flown in for a family event. Only one morning worked for the session, so we started around 8:30 a.m. to keep the energy calm and natural. Their uncontainable chemistry made it so effortless to create images that feel both romantic and whimsical.

Outfits for the Perfect Oregon Engagement Session


Kaitlyn wore a flowy white dress with a gorgeous twist halter top, perfect for the Oregon meadow and spring scenery. Drew opted for a casual yet polished look with denim shorts and a grey tee.

 

Their outfits complemented the natural surroundings while keeping the focus on their connection, creating a look that is both editorial and approachable.

Beginning at the meadow


We began our session at the meadow, with horses adding a rustic element to the photos. Working with a mix of editorial poses and playful prompts, Kaitlyn and Drew did not hesitate to be playful and try new things. They naturally made each pose their own, giving the session a relaxed and authentic energy.

exploring the spring

After finishing at the meadow, we headed to explore a nearby spring to expand the variety of scenery. The warmer, moodier lighting in this area created an intimate, cinematic feel.

 

Bend, Oregon’s combination of open landscapes and secluded spots, allows for both romantic and adventurous engagement photos, perfect for couples who want a mix of editorial and playful imagery.

This engagement session was so special that it ultimately led to my first destination wedding booking in Scottsdale, Arizona.
